Many countries celebrate Father’s Day and Mother’s Day. If you could dedicate a holiday to a more distant relative, who would it be — and why?
This is tough. I was going to say let’s dedicate the day to non-human animals. In a way, they are our distant relatives. DNA-wise, chimps aren’t that far off from humans (even though that tiny percentage makes a huge difference). Super-distant, but still relatives because we all evolved on the same planet, relying on the same elements and the same star. Would be nice to have a day to recognize all animals and remember that the earth isn’t all about human beings! Yup, it’s not all about us. So, let’s hear it for Animal Day!

Interesting thought! Yours is perhaps the first non-human dedication that I came across today. 🙂
