I picked this one up at Target because of the gorgeous cover. I know, I know, never judge a book by its cover. 🙂 It wasn’t that bad. I liked the world-builidng, and the fact that it’s all about Trolls. We get tons of novels about vampires, fairies, witches, and wizards. Stepping into the world of Trolls is fresh and new.
This was the first in a trilogy (books 2 and 3 are due out later this year).
The characters and their motivations felt flat to me. While I enjoyed the story (I liked it MUCH better than the Iron King) and would read the next in the series, I didn’t connect with the characters or the plot on an emotional level.
