Chorus Day – Haydn, Te Deum n2 in C

This is just a fun setting of Te Deum by Franz Joseph Haydn. The Chapel Hill Community Chorus sang it as part of our Spring 2010 concert. It’s difficult though, and this choir does an amazing job with it. It was recorded over 20 years ago, and I’m mesmerized by these singers. Plus, as one of the YouTube commentators on the video said, “the director has awesome hair!” It’s true. He does. 😛

My favorite part of the song starts around the 6:41 mark, when they go into the twisty scales on “In te, Domine, speravi”. It always gets stuck in my head.
