Photo clock

While I was in NC this past winter for the holidays, I sorted through a bunch of old family photographs to take back to CA. If there was one thing my apartment lacked, it was family photos! I’m still trying to figure out what to do with all of them, but I’ll frame some, hang some from a string, and use some in a clock! I saw the clock idea here and thought it was so cool.

This is my first pass at the clock. It’s still very much a work in progress. I mostly wanted to get something on the wall to start with. The cheap clock movement kit from Michael’s (in the picture above) is flimsy and doesn’t work properly, so I’m going to replace it with a real clock that doesn’t have numbers. Or I’ll search for a better DIY clock kit.

When I get the new clock, I’ll likely rearrange the photos so that they’re more coordinated with the number positions and with other items on the wall. I’m excited about the progress so far, though. Once it’s complete, it’ll serve as the primary clock for my living room area, which is slowly coming together…

I’ll share more photos of the final version of the clock when I’ve finished it!
